Manor House is a residential home owned by South West Care Homes Ltd. and is registered with The Care Quality Commission to provide care and support for up to 30 individuals. Manor House Residential Home is a detached character property situated in a quiet and tree-lined road in Derriford which is one of the most sought after areas of Plymouth. The building has been sympathetically extended to supplement the spacious and homely communal areas to include two lounges and a dining area. A conservatory is also easily accessible for seating to allow enjoyment of the surrounding enclosed gardens all year around that attract a variety of birds and local wild life. A passenger lift allows easy access between floors. The ground floor offers accommodation comprising of: 11 single rooms with wash basin facilities and 5 single rooms with en-suite WC & basin facilities. The first floor offers accommodation comprising of: 1 double room with en-suite WC & wash basin facilities, 11 single rooms with en-suite WC & wash basin facilities and one single room with wash basin facilities. All rooms are of a good size, fully furnished and decorated in a manner that can be easily personalised to suit individual taste and preference, with the option of bringing own furnishings if desired. Television and telephone points are located in each room. There is a bathroom with raising/lowering bath-seat and separate shower room situated on the ground floor. Manor House provides professional and high quality care from staff trained specifically for each of their roles. The team is led by the Registered Manager Rebecca Walklin who is supported by Deputy Manager Donna Seward, both who have extensive experience of working within the health and social care field on all levels. The robust recruitment process in place ensures that all staff are of good character and are committed to providing the best possible care to our residents. Professional development is encouraged and additional training provided to cover all the care and support needs identified within the home. The housekeeping team follow robust schedules to ensure that the home is compliant with all infection control policies as well as ensuring that the home remains a tidy, pleasant and dignified environment in which to live. Manor House also offers an efficient in-house laundry service. All meals are freshly prepared daily with choices offered to ensure that all individual preferences and requirements are catered for. The Manor House team work closely with outside healthcare professionals and there is a nominated GP from Knowle House Surgery who visits the home when required which ensures continuity of care for those living in Manor House. Manor House is located close to many local amenities which include local places of worship, Crownhill shopping centre, pubs, leisure centre. The popular local attractions of Plymouth Hoe, Barbican and Dartmoor are a short journey away either by car or public transport.
